Duplicate User Detection uniquely identifies Machines by Fingerprints, UUID or Device IDs.
Advanced Reason: Duplicate Fingerprint
- Duplicate Fingerprint marks conversions with the same unique fingerprint.
The fingerprint is a hash (unique string) based on a multitude of characteristics of the user's device, i.e. user agent, screen resolution, color depth, regional settings including country, language, keyboard layout, clock settings, info on the device being jailbroken/ rooted and much more.
The fingerprint is unique to every device.
Fingerprint data is available for javascript integrations where it is built by Fraudshield as well as on other types of integration if it is passed as an extra parameter.
Duplicate Fingerprint can be enabled inside Integration > Filters > Advanced Mode ON (upper right corner) > Duplicate User Detection > Duplicate Fingerprint
To reproduce this reason go to the selected source (affiliate, product, partner and time frame) inside the fraud report, click on Fraud Profile, and then go to Top Fingerprints to see what the top duplicates are. You can also view the fingerprint inside the conversion report.
Advanced Reason: Duplicate UUID
Marks Conversions with duplicate UUIDs.
The UUID is only available on Javascript integrations and uniquely identifies a device once an initial conversion was already made.
The UUID is unique to every device.
Duplicate UUID can be enabled inside Integration > Filters > Advanced Mode ON (upper right corner) > Duplicate User Detection > Duplicate UUID
To reproduce this reason check the UUID column inside the conversion report for duplicate values.
Advanced Reason: Duplicate Device ID
Marks Conversions with duplicate Device IDs.
The device ID uniquely identifies a device.
Duplicate Device ID can be enabled inside Integration > Filters > Advanced Mode ON (upper right corner) > Duplicate User Detection > Duplicate Device ID
To reproduce this reason go to the selected source (affiliate, product, partner and time frame) inside the fraud report, click on Fraud Profile, and then go to Top Device IDs to see what the top duplicates are. You can also view the Device ID inside the conversion report.
